100

100 is a series of photographic works defined and confined by location: the alpine valley, village and mountains of Engelberg. The work is conceived as an open-ended, ongoing research project that purposefully avoids one defined style. Instead, it attempts to explore across genre how photography may form a framework to engage with a place and its people over an extended period of time, to record not a moment but a process of relations unfolding in time. 100 started as a series of photographs commissioned for a book (also called 100) which was published on the occasion of a 100 year jubilee in the village. 100 will continue until there are 100 images in the series. This may well take many years. Sections of the work might periodically be published or exhibited. Please see also the essay “Two kinds of light” in the section Texts by the artist.
